How Can MechaniScan™ Help?
Detect internal equipment damage and anomalies using ultrasonic inspection.
Ultrasound is generated as a result of friction between mechanical components (such as bearings). The high-frequency signals generated contain valuable information on the status of the machine, making it possible to detect internal damage and anomalies relatively easily.
Ultrasonic inspection can be used to accurately locate and trend mechanical anomalies. This proven technology is a perfect tool for most maintenance departments, as the implementation time is relatively short and allows for numerous applications in defect identification.
The following are commonly tested using ultrasound testing:
- Bearings
- Gearboxs
- Couplings
- Chain Drives
- Cavitation
- Leaking/Chattering valves and Steam traps
Lubrication can be applied utilizing contact probes in a controlled and measured manner allowing consumption to be tracked and recorded. It also utilizes existing personnel to ascertain how the machine is performing with relatively low expense.
